SIGN UP TODAY! Rise Against Hunger (formerly STOP Hunger Now) will be held on Saturday, January 20 at 9:00 am in Carson Hall. If you would like to volunteer to help package meals, please sign up on the clipboard, located in the lobby, TODAY! The event is Saturday and we need 40 volunteers!
REMINDER: The UMW Executive Committee will meet Sunday, January 14 at 4:00 pm in Room 12.KIDS CLUB: This month we have lots of fun activities happening in Kids Club! Join us tonight for Winter Craft Night! We will have a blast making some winter crafts. Next week we will have a concert from the Children's Chimes! We hope to see you there: supper is 5:30, and Kids Club begins at 6:00 pm!
Sound Operators Needed: As we begin 2018, we need to increase the number of sound operators available for worship and other special services. Training is provided! We need YOU. Please complete the survey found in the Welcome Books. Thank you for supporting our ministry of worship in this way!

FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY BEGINS: Wednesdays, January 17-March 21 from 7-8:30pm (No class on Ash Wednesday). Child care will be available, but you MUST let the church office know the number and ages of children immediately. To register: Each family will purchase their own membership kit which contains all of the materials for the classes & includes a lifetime membership in the course (meaning you can use the same kit to go through the class as many times as you wish). Winter Bible Study: Invitation to Romans: Kim Lamb will lead this 8-week study each Thursday night from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in Room 12 beginning January 18. The materials, published through the Disciple Bible Study series, include videos to augment discussion. There are daily readings which accompany the study including scripture and study guide. The study guide costs $20. Register in the Lobby.
ATTENTION READERS! Copies of the current St. James Book Club selection, A House in the Sky, are now available to be checked out from the Ann Bridgers Library. This is a true story based on the experiences of Amanda Lindhout, a Canadian reporter who was kidnapped in Somalia and held hostage for 460 days. This book is part of the UMW Reading Program and is from the Education for Mission category. All interested readers are invited to participate in both the Reading Program and Book Club. The Book Club discussion for A House in the Sky will be held on at 2:30 pm on Sunday, February 11.
