Sunday Bulletin Announcements
SPECIAL OFFERING THIS MORNING: Our summer special offering will be shared with our Youth Missions. There are envelopes in the welcome books for you to use. Please make checks payable to St. James UMC with "Youth Missions" on the memo line. Your support will help send our high school UMYF students to ASP this month.
AUGUST NEWSLETTER DEADLINE is this Wednesday. As school and church programs return from summer break, please remember to let the church family know what your ministry has in store for the month. Please get your articles and updates in to Martha in the office by noon. Thanks!
UMW YARD SALE TRAINING TODAY: There will be a meeting of all UMW Yard Sale volunteers today, 3:00-4:30 pm in the Library. We would like to use this time to address some changes that we're making from previous yard sales, and to figure where best to use our volunteers. Please come join us if you are interested in helping with the yard sale on August 19!
BBQ WORKSHOP MEETING TONIGHT: We are holding an organizational workshop meeting for the September BBQ fundraiser today at 6pm in Room 12. This is going to be our church's biggest fundraiser of the year, so we need all the volunteers we can get! Please sign up on the clipboard wall to attend the workshop so we can get everyone assigned to the area they'd like to work in. The BBQ will be held on Friday, September 22. For questions, contact Sharon Johnson.
MUDCATS BASEBALL GAME - PLAY BALL! Everyone is invited to join Family Life's annual night with the Carolina Mudcats on Friday, July 28 at 7pm at Five County Stadium. The cost per person is $7. Please sign up in the church lobby so we know how many tickets to purchase. Tickets may be picked up either in the church office for several days preceding the game, or at the Will Call area at the stadium the day of the game. Come join us for some baseball, maybe a hot dog or popcorn, and some fellowship with our friends!
TROPICAL SUNDAY: On Sunday, July 30, we will Take It Tropical! in each of our worship services that morning and will have a church-wide luncheon after worship to enjoy the company of our church community, along with some wonderful tropical entertainment! Wear your tropical best to worship in the morning and stay for lunch at noon! Our United Methodist Men are preparing a tropical luncheon for the church, and our ukulele ministry is going to provide mealtime entertainment! Please plan to contribute the amount you would spend if you were to eat lunch at a restaurant!
GARDEN UPDATE: Total poundage donated as of 7/12 is 381.47 lbs. At present, UMW is in the lead followed by Young Families. Thanks to everyone who came out last Saturday for our cleaning day. Our next one is August 5; please feel free to come out and help!
